Weekend Fun

On Saturday we hit our favorite bread place Con Pane and then Coronado beach with our friend Matt Green. It was great to have two boys to carry all the stuff and one mommy to walk with Tanner. What are we going to do when it is just two parents and two kids. YIKES!!

Tanner loves the sand. Her favorite thing is to move sand from one bucket of water to the next and destroy any potential sandcastle building.
We were trying to capture a potential castle before the destroyer hit aka Tanner.
One of the grossest things Tanner does is lick her hands when they are filled with sand. We made many trips to the water bucket to wash the sand out but it never lasted long. I DON"T LOVE SAND, so this is the most challenging part of parenting- letting Tanner be a kid and not worry about it. We tried to get tanner to play in the surf but she wanted nothing to do with the water, she only wanted to play in the sand.
Friday night the Johnson's and the Carey's hit Seaworld for a couple hours because we can with season passes. As we headed to the penguin exhibit we noticed this sign with Pete the Penguin and had to have the kiddos take a picture. I can't believe I got them both smiling.

Cuddle time

Well the first week of camp is over and this is where my two babies are--ASLEEP ON THE COUCH!!! This comes as no surprise for Jay but I was astonished to see Tanner asleep too. They both sat down to watch a show before Tanner's nap and low and behold they fell asleep. I guess Tanner isn't too old to cuddle after all and Jay was in heaven as he loves to cuddle. I think Tanner was just glad to have her daddy back because when Jay got up to put her in her crib she cried "daddy hold you, hold you". SO PRECIOUS!!!!

Daddy's Birthday

Tuesday was Jay's birthday and we had lots of family plans that day but due to different circumstances like work and tummy contractions things didn't go as plan. BUT--- I did plan a little get together with some friends for the evening and our friend Chavonne offered to make a chocolate cake. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!
Here is Chavonne and Tanner.
Here is Peter and Tanner trying to wait patiently for cake and icecream. It was a late party and people got here late and they just had all that time to stare at the cake, so they pretended to eat some early.
Singing happy Birthday to daddy. Mommy and Tanner practiced blowing out candles in the afternoon so she could help daddy. Tanner got really good. Lets see how she does.
Nope only daddy did the blowing with mommy. Tanner is slightly making the movement with her lips but she was content to watch daddy. All and all it was a good party and we had lots of friends come that we haven't seen in awhile. Happy Birthday Babe! I love you sooooo much.

First few days in SD

Our drive to SD went really well. I think Tanner is starting to understand long drives and with technology of video players it makes it super easy. Tanner's favorite show is called "fresh beat band" and thanks to a friend at Hume who can tape onto DVD's, we had her favorite show ready to go for her. After a stop for lunch, Lola and I looked back and found Tanner just like this. We thought it was so cute that Lola took a picture.
Auntie Liz came down for the weekend to help mommy with Tanner since I was all alone. On Sunday Liz had a desire for Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and I couldn't turn that down so we went.
This was Tanner's first coffee drink (vanilla smoothie) and she called them"smoothie". She liked it well enough but I think she would have preferred the chocolate one. She is a girl after her mom and dad.
Still slurping. We thought she would get a brain freeze.
NOw the drink is done. The thing with Tanner and sweets is that after 3 or 4 bites she is done. It is kinda nice not to have to worry about over indulgence with her, except when it comes to icecream.
Tanner and Liz playing. It was a great weekend and I am always sad to see family leave. Thanks Liz for coming and hanging out. Tanner and I loved spending time with you.
