Celebrating Elyse

Today we are celebrating Elyse's life by releasing balloons in honor of the day she was born. It was at 1:06pm that Elyse came to Cliff and April so we sent our love up to her at 1:06 today. This is a tradition the Carey's are starting every year to remember their little girl. Tanner and I were with my sister Liz in Brea, CA so we went and found balloons and joined in the tradition. Jay joined in too only he was in Corona, Ca filming the summer video. They stopped their filming to join in celebrating Elyse's life, as I hear many others did around the US that were friends of the Carey's.

A new generation

Jen has 4 close friends from high school that still get together once or twice a year. It is very rare for all of us to get together at one time but whoever is in Fresno will meet up. This last time it was Colleen, Jen, and Erin and we thought for once we should introduce the kiddos. In order from oldest to youngest it is Mikayla, Mailee, Kohl, Maddie, Kirra, Caleb, Jenna, Tanner and Caitlyn. Amazingly enough we were only missing one baby and that is Gretch's little girl Sophie who is only a day older then Caitlyn. Next year we will have two more kiddos to add as Gretch and I are pregnant for the second time. It was a great dinner and the kids loved playing together.

Sliding fun

While Jay is ruffing it in Hawaii, Tanner and mommy decided to head to Fresno for the week and enjoy some 70 degree weather. We have always known that Tanner is not the dare devil kid and is extremely cautious. Well for the past few months I have been trying to teach Tanner to go up the slide stairs and then sit and go down the slide. This trip was no exception. I put her on the stairs and she starts screaming as I make her climb up. I did it twice with her and then she was all done. You would have thought I was making her do something miserable like eat two more bites. Not more then 20 minutes later I watch and she climbed up the and slide down all by herself and said "weeeeee". See mommy does know how to do fun things, if only she would trust me. Finally she can do it on her own. She went down 5 times in a row and then I said go down on your tummy and I showed her once and that quickly became the new favorite way to slide.

I can't believe how quickly she is growing up. She is talking up a storm and growing, growing, growing. SHe can now reach and get things off the table and counters. Today she would hear an airplane and run outside and say "aplane".
