Cousin Micah's party

For Micah's birthday, they threw a farm party complete with tractor rides, baby chickens and lots of crazy toddlers to act as animals. Here is Tanner with Micah's pony.
We had a cattle herding too with some wild cow balloons. The kids loved chasing them as it was a windy day and they were flying all over.
One of the big hits of the farm party was the new baby chickens. Here is Uncle Adam trying to get Tanner to touch them. Tanner much preferred to play with the chicken feed. All the kids loved the chickens, especially their dog Sammie who ended up being locked away so she wouldn't dig under the cage to get them.
Cupcake time. Micah ate all of his cupake.
Tanner once again preferred the strawberries as yousee on her face and just licked the frosting off her cupcake and was done.
Here is the amazing Tractor cake that Aunt Jill made. It was a great party and lots of fun. Thanks Jill and Adam for a great party and Happy birthday Micah.

Papa's BIrthday

For Papa's birthday I let Tanner take a picture and this was the image that she captured. It was too great not to post, sorry papa.
It is a tradition in the Burns family to have a Baskin Robbins icecream cake and this year Tanner practiced singing Happy Birthday Papa and did a pretty good job. Here she is clapping for herself.
Time to blow out the candles.
This was Tanner's first icecream cake and I will say that she much prefered the icecream to the cake. She wanted nothing to do with the cake part. Oh well she will some day.

I love this little girl

The other day I found Tanner wearing my shoes, and this was just after she sat with me on the bathroom counter doing "make up" with me. I realized that as mommy's we have important roles to our daughters to mold them and shape them into Godly women, because they want to be just like their mommies.
When I look at this little girl of mine, I stand in amazement that I could love her so much and yet still have room for another person in my heart. I wonder, "will a boy love me as much as a girl", "will I be treasured like a little girl treasures her mommy?"Of course I know the answer in my head is YES!!! but I still get a little self conscious about being a mommy for a boy and if I will be a good one that he will want to be around. People always said having kids you realize God's love for his children and it is SOOO true. I love my little girl and yet I know it does not come as close to how much God loves her and that is so hard for my little brain to wrap around. I look forward to someday standing in the presence of God and seeing how he loves millions all at once. What an amazing God we serve. Thank you LORD for loving me and loving Tanner and showing me what a parents love should look like.

A birthday to remember.

Here is our birthday girl ready for the day. It was a chilly day so we had to wear an undershirt and leggings but I think we pulled off the outfit. Thanks for your help Colleen.
Mommy and daddy with their big girl
Telling everyone that we are TWO.
Sign I decided to make the night before.
Party table.
Cupcakes. Jay and Jen collaborated on how to make a big cupcake. I think we did a pretty good job.
Tanner's favorite thing to do at any park is SWING!! What the birthday girl wants the birthday girl gets so here she is swinging.
Tanner just learned how fun this slide can be. Here is Papa and Tanner playing on the slide.
She kinda knew what to do with candles but I guess we will have to practice that for the next birthday.
All the kiddos waiting for their cupcakes.
Enjoying her cupcake. But once she found out there was strawberries, Tanner wanted nothing more to do with the cupcake. I was okay with that, there will be plenty of birthdays to come where chocolate will win out, for now we won't push it.

How quickly two years go?

It really seems like it was just yesterday Tanner was curled up on daddy's chest sleeping.
Now she is sitting on daddy's lap swinging like a big girl. Tanner we love you so much.
