Jett's First Birthday

Our little guy turned ONE today and as I think back to last year being pregnant it really does seem like a long time ago but at the same time it is really neat to see how much he has filled a void in our life that we didn't know was there and that we can't imagine our life without him.  My prayer for him on facebook was that the Lord would protect him and keep him and that Jett would live a life that pleases Him.
A rare family picture.  My life feels very full and complete with these two little ones who seem to love each other.
I could just stare at this little man all day.
The big gift for Jett was this wagon from Grammie and Grandpa.  It was a big hit and I can see many long walks in our future here at Hume with it.
I think it is a hit.  Thanks Grammie and Grandpa.

Standing up so proud.
Nana came up for a little while and got some Jett time in.  Our birthday boy woke up this morning with a really yucky cold.  Thankfully kids are more durable then adults when sick.
For Jett's first birthday we went with a truck theme because for awhile Jett had this really little yellow dump truck that he played with and was obsessed with it.  We lost it of course but it gave me the idea and I know my friend Colleen would be proud of what we came up with.  Jay of course was much of the inspiration being a set designer and all but we make a great team implementing it all.
This was homemade granola thanks to my friend Colleen's recipe.  It was really easy and so yummy.  Thanks Colleen!
Applejuice and Lemonade what more could you need.
Extra batter from Jett's cake made great cupcakes.

It is hard to tell but we had Mud (pudding), Asphault (oreo), Worms, Woodchip all for snacks.  I think it was a big success.

Now we got most of these trucks from our neighbor boy who is obsessed with tractors, trucks, etc.  Now he of course knows the names for them all and he was happy to share them (well he wasn't home so I guess he never knew:))
One goal I had was to get a family picture because we didn't for Tanner's birthday.  It was a success and we were all smiling a double bonus.  Yes this is our new backyard for many who haven't seen it.  It is gorgeous and we LOVE it a ton.  The nice thing is it is shaded most of the time.
Our birthday boy.  Because of the Jett being sick and our nephew being sick a lot of the kids didn't make it but those that did made it really special for Jett and we had a great time.
Cake time.  Jett loves to eat with his hands so I knew this would be a success unlike Tanner who just cried because we took her strawberry away for the cake.
I think he likes it.
The nice thing was he didn't get too messy.
New ride truck from Nana and Papa.  He loved it.
He knew just what to do with it.
Another successful toy from Auntie EE and Uncle B.  All the kids wanted in on this one and Tanner just begged to have it opened.
This is a classic shot of him holding his card that says birthday boy and being next to his wagon.  Thank you photographer (Jay).
Here we go.  I think he rode it in for a good 20 minutes loving it and Grammie was happy to pull him.  I hear it pulls smooth and nice.
And the finished cake.  I would say he did pretty good and I think had a great birthday.  We had fun planning it and celebrating our little man. Birthday pictures just in.
