Jett's 2nd Birthday

Our birthday weekend started on Thursday when Liz, Barrett, and Nana came up.  Here are the three Burns cousins all in a bath together.  I think Barrett loved having short people around.  By the end of the weekend I think Jett and Barrett figured each other out and started to play with one another.
Here they all are feeding the duckies Friday morning.  I love this picture of them.
This was as close as I got to all three kids looking at the camera.
Saturday was Country fair and it is a tradition to ride on the fire truck.  Here is Jay with Jett, Tanner, and Peter.  They were all smiles.
Waving to mommy.  Tanner got her face painted with a half butterfly.  She loves getting it every year.  I love how happy Peter looks.
Sunday was Jett's actual party and Uncle Adam built this amazing house for all the kids to do an activity with.  Tanner and Micah loved playing in the house when it was finished.
Here is Grammie and Jett in the kitchen making the homemade icecream.  We decided to do that instead of cake because Jett loves icecream.  It was bound to happen with both Grandpa's eatting it every night if they could.
Jett just kept yelling "nummies, nummy"  He knew it was finished and wanted some.
Pulling out the dasher is always fun because that means taste testing is just around the corner.

Look how big his mouth can open up.  What can we say Jett is serious about his icecream.  We tried making Peach icecream this year along with vanilla.  It was good but could use a few more ripe peaches next year.
Jay once again out did himself with the decor.  You will see the tables lined with all kinds of construction gear, a tool box at the end of one table.  Table saw horses in the back ground with ply wood on it to serve as the food table and a saw table for the gift table.  Oh and paint drop clothes for the table cloths.
Gift table.  What boy wouldn't want the saw too but Jett will have to wait a few more years for that!
The cones were lined with caution tape for the entrance to the party.
Here's our birthday boy and his parents.  Jett we love you so much and see you growing into a strong, detailed, determined boy who loves life and being in the great outdoors.  His words are few yet we understand everything he wants or needs.  His smile and laugh melts our heart and we keep the doctors on their toes with how little he weighs.
Do you see Jett's tool belt.  Papa is helping Jett and Sawyer hammer some nails.
Here's cousin Barrett just enjoying the party.  Such a cutie.
Grammie read a story called "The house that "JETT"built" that is a famous nursery rhyme I guess called the house that Jack built.  All the kids sat in a circle and every time Grammie read the word "JETT" the kids would play some type of musical instrument.
Jett wasn't too into the story and I think that is because all the kids were entertained and he could finally have a work bench toy all to himself.  Oh well it's his party and he can do what he wants I guess.
 Story time.
The tool bench and drew Jett away from the story.
Next we did relay races.  Kids would run down and Jen would show them an item and they would have to search a box lid filled with saw dust to find the same item.  It was so cute and Grammie did an excellent job coming up with the game.  The Johnson's are so creative and I feel blessed to be apart of this family.
Searching the saw dust for their items.
Food table.  We served sliders, macaroni salad, chips, fruit, water and lemonade.  Oh and of course the homemade icecream sundaes.
Jay cooking it up.  He is such an awesome griller.
While Jay was cooking up the food the kids got to paint "The house the JETT built", and they LOVED it.  We had shirts to cover them up and I think they were all mostly clean with little on the clothes.
 Painting, painting, painting!!
Jett finally got into the paint too and loved it.

The kids eating their icecream.  It was such a great day and we felt blessed to have all our family and friends there.  We couldn't raise this man without everyone.  It even took our whole family to help put the party together.   Oh and as a thank you gift, each child got to take a tape measure home.

HAPPY SECOND BIRTHDAY JETT ANDREW JOHNSON!!!
